Self Catering Cottages, Touring Caravan Park & Camping site in Cumbria’s Lake District, West Coast.

A great family getaway

Shepherds Views is a lovely site in a peaceful corner of West Cumbria, close to the sea and the Lake District mountains – perfect for a relaxing break.

Julie & Stephen Shepherd with their family run this caravan & camping site with 3 self catering cottages set in 210 acres of farmland. At dusk or dawn, you may spot our resident Barn Owl hunting for food, or our bats, which are fascinating to watch darting to & fro in the evening sky.

Camping Pods

If you’re fed up with putting up & taking down your tent, or want to try something a little different, then try our camping pods as an alternative. Our pods have an electric light, 3 pin sockets & small heater.

“Just returned from our 3rd visit to Dairymaids Cottage. As usual, we had a lovely week in this lovely comfortable cottage . We love the hot tub and even ventured on a bike trip (hired bikes from Julie & Stephen). We will be back again! Oh, and those fresh eggs!!!.”

Enjoy & Remember Great Times With Us

A great family getaway for self catering, touring & camping in Cumbria's Lake District, West Coast.

Shepherds Views is located on the outskirts of the Cumbria village of Drigg on the Edge of the Lake District National Park. The site is within a backdrop of the Wasdale hills & valley. Wastwater – voted “Britain’s Favourite View” in the same name ITV series. Shepherds Views is ideally situated for keen cyclists as it is near the start of Hadrian’s cycleway which takes you from Ravenglass to South Shields passing the entrance to our site. Also in and around the local area are cycle routes for all cycling abilities from country lanes to extreme mountain biking. Also just a short journey up the coast is the start of the Coast to Coast walk at St. Bees Head.

“We had a fantastic time chilling out in the Old Bakery. Lots of places to visit and plenty of places to eat. The owners, Julie and Steve were very hospitable. The converted barn is beautiful. I especially was fond of going and feeding Murphy and Jackson. The horse and donkey. Will hopefully be visiting again next year.”

“We have just come back from a weeks holiday in the old bake house. The cottage was very comfortable with everything you should need. The bed was amazingly comfortable. Very clean & came back truly relaxed. Steven & Julie very friendly & eager to make sure everything is just right. 5 star *****.”

Pink Tractor 4The Pink Tractor Appeal for Breast Cancer Charities.

Last year we produced over 300 pink bales in aid of Breast Cancer Charities. This year we’ve done something a little different.

This is our New Tractor which we have had painted pink! This has been sponsored by Lloyd Ltd & painted ‘Fantasy Pink’ by Evolution. This tractor will be available to view at some Agricultural Shows throughout this year in Cumbria at the Lloyd Ltd Stand. The first show will be The Dairy Expo at H & H. Carlisle, in March. In between the tractor being at various shows it will be seen around our farm, next to Shepherds Views Holidays. Anyone wishing to make a donation to ‘The Pink Tractor Appeal’ can do so either on the Show Stand or at Lloyd Ltd, Carlisle Branch or to Shepherds Views Holidays – contact Stephen, Julie or Peter. All donations made go to Breast Cancer Now for Breast Cancer Charities. Visit our blog for more information. You can also donate through our Just Giving page by clicking the sponsor me button.
